Staffingly is hiring an experienced Medical Coder for a full-time remote role. The position focuses on outpatient and ambulatory coding, charge review, documentation clarification, coding audits, denial support, and maintaining coding accuracy before billing.
Time Zone: Mountain Time (MT)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate medical coding and charge reviews.
- Review documentation for coding accuracy.
- Clarify documentation with providers when needed.
- Support coding-related denials.
- Conduct regular coding audits.
- Assist with referrals and prior authorizations as required.
- Maintain coding accuracy before billing.
Requirements / Skills
- 3–5 years of outpatient or ambulatory medical coding experience.
- Active CPC, CCS, or equivalent AAPC/AHIMA certification.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Strong understanding of CMS guidelines and medical necessity.
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems.
- Experience with coding audits and documentation queries.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong focus on coding accuracy.
